Regatta Course

Baldeneysee

The regatta course is located in the south of Essen on the Baldeneysee in west-east direction. Rowers will find equal conditions on all eight lanes. Due to the size of the lake training is possible during racing. The new starting pontoon is equipped with traffic lights and electronic control of false starts. Because of this we can make sure all boats start at the same time. The racing course is also equipped with a floating Albano-System. The waterfront starts at the 1250 metre mark. The main building, named Regattahaus, is located at the 1600 metre mark. The regatta office, changing rooms and the weighing can be found there. Next to the Regattahaus one can find the grandstand and the finish tower with its modern technical equipment to ensure, that close races can be judged precisely.
